For Chris Rock's first live appearance since the Oscars and Netflix's inaugural live streaming event, our goal was to capture the raw emotion of personal storytelling in front of a live audience.
Our Creative Direction became: "We see what Chris sees."
Mirrors boldly reflect the audience's energy while offering a glimpse into Chris's perspective. As he delivers his sharp, unapologetic stand up, the reflections create intimacy and immediacy, making the audience an integral part of the visual experience. Our design approach emphasized the tension between performer and observer, highlighting the complex dynamics between comedy, audience, and culture.
